Call for Abstracts: NAEA 2027 AACIG Forums
The Asian Art and Culture Interest Group (AACIG) is delighted to announce a call for presentation proposals for our two in-person forums, Forum I and Forum II, at the 2027 NAEA National Convention in New York, NY, March 4-6, 2027.
Forum I: AAPI Arts and Culture as Sites of Research and Inquiry in Art Education
Forum II: Integrating Asian/Asian American and Pacific Islander Arts and Culture through Culturally Responsive Teaching Methods in PK-16 Art Classrooms
To apply:
1. Submit an abstract related to each forum's topic (250-300 words).
· Indicate the title of the forum that you are applying for.
· Provide your presentation title.
· Describe your research, project, pedagogical practice, personal narratives, or inquiries.
· Describe how your presentation will advance theories, pedagogies, and teaching practices of Asian art and culture.
2. Please send the proposal to the forum leader by 11:59 pm EST on December 1, 2026.
· Proposals for Forum I should be sent to Dr. Eunjin Kim at kime10@southernct.edu
· Proposals for Forum II should be sent to Dr. Maria Lim at e_lim@uncg.edu
After the blind review, the presenter of the accepted proposal will be notified by January 15, 2027. Both presentation sessions will be held in person at NAEA 2027, New York, March 4-6.
